What is this world coming to?

How does one man’s pain and suffering, become another man’s satisfaction?

Everyone experiences hate and conflict of interests. That’s what makes us human. And the natural thing for us to do is vent this frustration. The problem we seem to have, is that we don’t know where to vent it.

The biggest problem of all that we have, is that we think we’re powerful enough to make life altering decisions. Foolish enough, we try to play god in people’s lives- some by using weapons of destruction to cause pain and destroy lives.

The Boston bombing today is an eye-opener. There are many people out there who are disturbed and in need of help desperately. Even worse, groups of these disturbed people are joining forces and influencing other minds. Without any reason, there are people, who are against the human race and it’s existence. And they are taking away precious lives that don’t deserve to be taken.

With everything that we already have to fight against- Cancer, natural disasters etc., fighting against each other isn’t needed. A question that would be in all our minds is ‘Why?’. Whatever message they’re trying to send across with their atrocious behavior today, it has to be made clear to them that this isn’t the way they get attention.

Yet, what most of us fail to see is the severity of these cases. No, it’s not only the highly advertised and broadcasted cases that are in need of attention. To many countries such as Afghan and Iraq with war constantly at hand, these bombing are unfortunately a recurring sight. People are unable to go on with their daily duties without having the nagging thought that their lives are in danger. No one deserves to live like that.

Sadly, the fact is that nations that seek aid in times of need like the situations at hand, are also the nations that are embracing violence and responding with violence.

An eye for an eye only makes whole world blind – Mahatma Gandhi

Reciprocating with violence only creates a chain effect of violence. And one day that will lead us to our own destruction. The situation at hand is much more severe than it’s been portrayed. Change needs to be embraced and people need to make a quick effort to spread peace.

My heart goes out to those in Boston, Afghan and all the other people who have been unfortunate victims in the tactless attacks of ruthless men.

My prayer is that innocent lives are not victimized because of political scandals.

There is always a better way to solve things. Violence isn’t needed.

Make love, not war.
